Reef-cod

Epinephelus diacanthus is a species of fish belonging to the family Serranidae. It is also known as Redbelly grouper. It is native to the Indian Ocean and can be found on the continental shelf of the northern Indian Ocean from the Gulf of Aden to Sri Lanka and Madras, India. It is not known from the Persian Gulf nor the Red Sea. The fish is usually found in depths of 10 - 120 m1. It can grow up to 55.0 cm TL male/unsexed.
